In 2012, Ford Motor Company will be offering the all-new Mustang Boss 302. In 1970, the Boss 302 made its mark on muscle car racing forever when it triumphed to win the SCCA Trans-Am Championship with racing legend Parnelli Jones at the wheel. In just a few years, engines of this famed car will with once again rev hearts of car enthusiasts everywhere, and we personally can’t wait.
The revived 2012 model isn’t all about the horse and pony show either; there are some serious enhancements under the hood of this Mustang. Ford’s goal in updating the Mustang Boss 302 was to provide its drivers with a performance car that could compete with, the 2010 BMW M3, with ease.
The rejuvenated Mustang will be supported by a stiffer body, and powered by a 440-hp, 5.0 liter, naturally aspirated V-8 engine. True racing fans will appreciate the special edition Laguna Seca package, whereas the backseat is removed and an an X-shaped brace inside the vehicle, provides the feel of the interior of a race car. Additionally, the Laguna Seca package offers a dam to scoop up more air up front.
