Hybrids are all the rage these days- for one reason or another, varying by customer. However, what is their actual value? What can it be based on? For so long, consumers based the eco (or pocketbook) friendliness of a vehicle on its mile-per-gallon rating. So, what in fact can someone measure by to produce this metric for hybrid vehicles? The San Francisco Chronicle produced an interesting article of 7 of the most popular hybrids on the road as well as estimates of how long it would take for each car to pay for its higher cost compared to non-hybrid models in gasoline savings.
