Who’s the Boss?

In 2012, Ford Motor Company will be offering the all-new Mustang Boss 302. In 1970, the Boss 302 made its mark on muscle car racing forever when it triumphed to win the SCCA Trans-Am Championship with racing legend Parnelli Jones at the wheel. In just a few years, engines of this famed car will with once again rev hearts of car enthusiasts everywhere, and we personally can’t wait.

The revived 2012 model isn’t all about the horse and pony show either; there are some serious enhancements under the hood of this Mustang. Ford’s goal in updating the Mustang Boss 302 was to provide its drivers with a performance car that could compete with, the 2010 BMW M3, with ease.

The rejuvenated Mustang will be supported by a stiffer body, and powered by a 440-hp, 5.0 liter, naturally aspirated V-8 engine.  True racing fans will appreciate the special edition Laguna Seca package, whereas the backseat is removed and an an X-shaped brace inside the vehicle, provides the feel of the interior of a race car. Additionally, the Laguna Seca package offers a dam to scoop up more air up front.

Dol-fans- don’t miss this event!

In just 15 days 4 hours and 20 or so minutes, and the Miami Dolphins will be hitting the field to take on their rivals on the other coast, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their first pre-season game. In just 16 days, 3 hours and 20 or so minutes the very same Miami Dolphins cheerleaders that will give the sideline a little sparkle and cheer against the Bucs will be at Miami, Midway Ford.

There really is nothing like football season and football just wouldn’t be the same without cheerleaders. Since 1966, the Dolphin Cheerleaders have been a part of our historic football team and the city of Miami. At Midway Ford, we feel the same way about Miami and our vehicles! We’re excited to be able to share this event with our community.

2011 Ford Explorer to Be Revealed on Facebook

If you are like many others, than you have probably been anxiously awaiting the reveal of the new 2011 Ford Explorer. A staple in the American way of life, the very traditional Ford Motor Company is breaking tradition in a big way! Instead of an auto show, Ford will reveal the 2011 Explorer redesign on Facebook.

On July 26, 2010, Ford along with their well-known Dirty Jobs spokesperson will reveal the “really, really different Explorer” through Facebook. If you want a sneak peek of some of the newest features that have been revealed check out http://www.facebook.com/fordexplorer. We’re excited to see the new MyFord Touch and the EcoBoost engine- for starters.

Although the redesigned SUV will make its first appearance on Facebook, Ford will also be hosting several offline reveals in several major cities across the nation.

All of this change makes sense because statistics show that Facebook.com is the most popular website on the internet- what better a place to reveal one of the most popular vehicles of the decade.

USA Wins! Now- Where to Watch the Next Game?!

In 1930, the first goal in World Cup history was scored by Lucien Laurent of France. That was eighty years ago. Just a few days ago, the United States accomplished something that hadn’t been done in the World Cup in over 50 years- staying alive past the first round.

The Fiesta Gets Fiesty

It’s all about clubs. Right? Just ask Tiger Woods.

 But no, really. The Mile High Club, The Justin Bieber Fan Club, Dungeons and Dragons Club, Chess Club.

 What about one that actually matters? How about the 40 and over club? I’m not talking about age here either. We’re talking over 40 M.P.G’s, now that’s a club I want to be a part of and guess what, my Midway Ford Fiesta just got VIP rights.

Mechanical Theatre- It’s solid!

Some people may find theatre a complete bore, but this all new type of theatre is turning the gears of even the most cranky of theatre goers by pull(ey)ing strings everywhere. The Cabaret Mechanical Theatre is something that the young and young-at-heart alike can enjoy.  Wooden sculptures are brought to life through the movement of tiny cranks, pulleys and gears. Visitors can even take part in the fun of bringing art to life with 20 different objects that can be operated at their liking.

A completely different type of theatre and transcending art, this exhibit is definitely not something you see every day. Furthermore, the Miami Science Museum provides a learning opportunity in the areas of simple mechanics and machinery.

Ford Fusion Hybrid- best bet in hybrid class

Hybrids are all the rage these days- for one reason or another, varying by customer. However, what is their actual value? What can it be based on? For so long, consumers based the eco (or pocketbook) friendliness of a vehicle on its mile-per-gallon rating. So, what in fact can someone measure by to produce this metric for hybrid vehicles? The San Francisco Chronicle produced an interesting article of 7 of the most popular hybrids on the road as well as estimates of how long it would take for each car to pay for its higher cost compared to non-hybrid models in gasoline savings. The winner (by a long shot might we add, ok so we’re pretty proud) Ford Fusion, dubbed the “Crown Jewel” of the Fusion family by Consumer Reports.

 The publication states that the owner of a Ford Fusion hybrid would likely break even with the money they save in gas within 5-6 years. This report is based on a current gas price of $2.36 (they aren’t in south Florida now are they??).  So- whatever your reasons for thinking about purchasing a hybrid vehicle, make sure that Ford Fusion is on your list. There’s a new sheriff in town.

Ford vehicles are an American pride, inspiring countrymen to think back to the century plus of automotive excellence every time we see one on the road, but soon, for those who intend criminal mischief, seeing the brand will inspire a refreshed, full-on, mortal dread.

That’s right, the Ford Crown Victoria design is moving over to make room for the latest crime-fighting hero – the all-new Ford Police Interceptor design based on the class-leading 2010 Taurus. The Crown Victoria has done a wonderful job serving Johnny Law as they serve the public for the past couple of decades, but its aged design is now handing over the charge of public safety to the all-new 2012 Ford Interceptor, a vehicle with clear Taurus genetics.

Ford revealed the new design at a private fleet sales event in Las Vegas last month to a law enforcement crowd that were intrigued and excited about the newly-designed and latest crime-fighting tool they’ll be given. Ford engineers worked hand-in-hand with police agencies to deliver a vehicle that would be perfect for America’s police. Designed with safety as the most important factor, the 2010 Police Interceptor is able to endure rear collisions up to 75 miles per hour and still keep its passengers safe. For those that attempt to flee the long arm of the law, the Police Interceptor has a few surprises under the hood, too. Two powertrain options are available. The 3.5 liter V6 delivers 263 HP and 250 lb-ft of torque. The top-end offering boasts a 365HP twin-turbo EcoBoost 2.5 liter V6, with full SHO and all-wheel-drive treatment.

Inside, the 2012 Ford Police Interceptor has custom seats designed to comfortably account for police issue utility belts and plenty of room for all the other gear a modern crime-fighter needs, including a nice space for police issue laptops.

The vehicle launches in 2011, so lawbreakers beware! There’s a new superhero in town and they call it the 2012 Ford Police Interceptor.
